Present Executive Committee:

President: Prof. Pabitra Sarkar (Fulbright Scholar, Former Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra-Bharati University, Author, Critic and Reviewer. On invitation visited Japan and also other countries being a renowned academician.  

Honorary President Cultural Secretary of the Japanese Association in Kolkata (Honorary member of IJWCA) 

Vice-President: Prof. Sibdas Ray (Retd. Professor  Department of Chemistry, University of Calcutta, Kolkata)

General Secretary: Mrs. Gouri Bakshi (Post Graduate in Science from the University of Calcutta, founder Director of the Association and visited Japan on two occasions on invitations with spouse, done a course on Computer Accountancy.) 

Jt.General Secretary: Mrs. Kazuko Nigam (Japanese National, College Graduate, received Japanese language teachersf training in Japan being sponsored by The Japan Foundation, Tokyo;  teaching Japanese language for more than 30 years). She received Japanese Foreign Ministerfs Award. 

Jt. General Secretary: Dr. (Miss) Purabi Gangopadhyay (Ph.D.(Arts) from University of Calcutta, Studied Japanese language and so far visited Japan on four occasions being invited by the Japan Foundation,

Contributor of some articles related to Japanese Language and Japanese Studies and also Authored one book Trilingual Word Book (English-Bengali-Japanese) and a few translation works.

Treasurer: Mr. Salil Jana. A science Graduate and studied Japanese Language. 

Executive Member: Mr. Saroj Mohan Som (Civil Engineer, Retired Government Engineer, Gazetted Officer, Visited Japan on invitations) 

Our Japanese Language Courses

Courses offered: Beginnersf, Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Advanced  (6-month each)

In each and every calendar year our Indo-Japan Language Studies Society starts the course twice:
1)   January to June (Admission closes in December)  2)   July to December (Admission closes in June).

Admission for July, 2018 will start from 15thJune, 2018 and

admission will continue till end of June, 2018

Form and Prospectus will also be available from 15th  June, 2018.

Classes will start from 1st week of July, 2018.

We provide audio-visual facilities and Tape Listening facilities (for Listening Test  of JLPT)
We also hold special coaching for the preparation for JLPT.
Special intensive or crash courses are provided for individuals or small group/s and also for Children on request.
Ikebana, Origami and Japanology classes can be held any time of the year depending on the availability of students.
